My Miss Aurelia, the unbeaten winner of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies, has what managing partner George Bolton termed “a small shin” from the Breeders’ Cup. In a series of texts Tuesday, Bolton said the shin has cooled out and the 2-year-old filly he named after his mother is getting “a nice vacation after four tough races.” He said the filly will race “when happy and ready.”

Bolton said the Kentucky Oaks “of course” remains a possibility “but we want her peaking on Breeders’ Cup Day,” which in 2012 will be at Santa Anita. Bolton co-owns My Miss Aurelia with Barbara Banke’s Stonestreet Stables, with both owners residing in California.

Bolton also reported that goals for The Factor, winner of Monday’s Grade I Malibu on opening day at Santa Anita, could be the $2 million Dubai Golden Shaheen on March 31 over Meydan’s Tapeta surface and Belmont’s Metropolitan Mile in late May.

My Miss Aurelia is trained by Steve Asmussen, while The Factor is trained by Bob Baffert.

My Miss Aurelia is the overwhelming favorite to be voted the champion 2-year-old filly and has a big shot to be a rare horse to be a unanimous selection for the Eclipse Awards.
